Patrick Stewart is just an unnecessarily nice and pleasant fellow, really sweet guy. However, he's also one of those actors who's able to play smarter than he is. Not that he's stupid IRL, but... he's no Jean-Luc Picard, you know? That was a weird discontinuity for me.

I understand. One of the actors I met plays this incredibly tough asshole on TV and yet in person, he was the sweetest thing imaginable and so completely different, it was a little surreal.

I met Patrick Stewart too and I thought he was charming. He has a very silly British sense of humor which you would not associate with Picard.
