Not really a rant, but I find it hard to balance between being myself and making people think I'm overwhelmingly chatty and weird, and being quiet and making people think I'm antisocial and weird. I'm getting better, but it's still hard to be entirely myself. It doesn't help that I feel people I know give me mixed messages. One minute it's "be yourself!" But the next it's "maybe you shouldn't make random Star Wars jokes, though." That's who I am, though. Yeah, you have to make sure you act appropriate in given situations, but at some point you're either too you or not you enough, and I have no idea where that middle ground is.

Yeah, I kinda feel this way sometimes myself.

Like I'll be in the middle of a conversation and realize: "Oh wait I'm really going on for a bit long about that topic I love, they look kinda bored, better shut up now."

So mostly I just don't talk about stuff I like because I don't want to bore people or make the conversation awkward.
