The main difference in Jorah and Dany's relationship in the show is Dany's age shift, imo. It's being acted pretty close to the books' portrayal, but the fact that book!Dany was 13 when she met Jorah adds a level of skeeve (from our modern-Earth readerly perspective) that's just not there with show!Dany who is clearly an adult, if a young one.

Sure, but the fact that this seems to be true of every single dude she meets kind of removes the skeeve factor from Jorah and ....well, puts it squarely on GRRM, don't you think?

What I'm saying is it's not fair to single Jorah out for that, if we're talking book Dany.

AFAIK, we're discussing Jorah because the secret was about Jorah, not because he's somehow creepier than the other men lusting after Dany. (He's not. That prize goes squarely to Viserys.)

I do think he suffers somewhat from having been around since the first book, where she's 13-14 and her POV starts out reading as pretty childish - she's not much older later, when she meets the other dudes who want in her pants, but she reads older and more mature, so fans seem to forget that she's still a young teenager when she's getting it on with Dario, etc. (Particularly since there's also been a huge gap between the publication dates.) Which is, again, not his fault, but fan perceptions are what they are.

I will agree that all of the skeeve belongs to GRRM, though.
