Calling abusive pasts sob stories really doesn't reflect well on the OP. They aren't obligated to support people, but whining that people who were abused actually, you know, find an abusive character abusive and discuss that is kind of fucking gross.

If you want to share your abusive past you should go to Support Centre or somewhere which is not a discussion of an animated person. Yes, it is not a place where you should share your story. In this discussions it really looks like a sob story written just to make us pity their author. Why would they even think to post it there if not for this?
You are saying that I should respect feelings of other people. But why don't whey respect my feelings by involving me into a conversation I absolutely don't want to have? Comforting other people much less people I don't know is not a situation I wish to find myself and certainly not because of Disney villain.

You sound like a sociopath, TBH. I would post it because it's relevant to, I dunno, how I view the character? You know, something important to discussion??? It sounds more like you want people to listen to you and why you like the character, but people absolutely can't bring into the conversation why they like it (accurate portrayal of something they've been through, in some cases).

I agree. In a fandom context, no one cares. There are plenty of places (say GC here or anon comms or tumblr blogs) where you can complain about your issues. Bringing it to a fandom space is just self-involved and about seeking pity.
