Yes, it was enormously popular. I found it a bland movie with a message that I found objectionable - and no, it's not the one about family/sisterly love which everyone on this post seems to think it is, but hey, they are untitled to their (mistaken) opinions!

Having said that, it is the most successful animated movie ever made and has earned over $2b at the box office. And it's still going strong overseas...

This is yet another proof that popularity is not synonym of quality: but hey, the Twilight books are among the most successful books ever printed, I am told!
