I'm going on holiday soon, I could use a lot of big, long fics to read. I would prefer it's not sex focused just because I will be travelling with family and I do not need my little sister accidentally opening up to someone ramming someone else.

I like:
Avengers: Stark focused, not too fussed on shipping/pairs. I dislike Steve though...
Harry Potter: No prefs here beyond no Marauders pls
ATLA/Lok: Big long world building epics? Or short ones. Just, world building
Hunger Games: World building?

That's it I think.

Ancient Methods of Roasting Chickens by fleete (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1028819) Arthur, Merlin Gwen and Morgana are reincarnated, sometimes remembering their pasts and sometimes having to be reminded. This time it's Gwen who needs to reminding.

OK F!S, I'm talking to you lot about this, since I don't really have anyone else I can explain this to.

I went on three dates with a guy. He was a total sweetheart, friendly and upbeat, we got on really well, and spent most of our time chatting away. BUT he did come on a little strong, messaging me on facebook and texting me all the time. While I enjoyed chatting IRL, I'm not as talkative online. I just don't know what to say most of the time.

I also have a lot of difficulty trusting guys; I tend to be suspicious of their motives.

Also, around about that time, I was confused about my sexuality. So, on our third date, I dumped him. I felt like a terrible human being, but he was really awesome about it.

TL;DR - I got scared off because I was confused and I have trouble trusting people. Months later I still thought fondly of him, and regretted breaking it off.

A while back, I tentatively contacted him on facebook, wanting to catch up. He texted me a few days ago. So we're probably going to meet up for coffee next week.

I think I probably have feelings for this guy. Legitimate feelings, since as soon as I got that text I started doing a happy dance in the living room, and I was STILL happy driving to work.

WHAT DO I DO?

Should I tell him: "Sorry I was a standoffish douchenozzle, I actually like you, want to go out?"

I don't even know if I should tell him about the whole sexuality thing, as I'm barely able to come out to myself, let alone anyone IRL.

Does anybody secretly like it when period pieces (or fanfic for period pieces) have period-accurate views of consent issues? For me, it's like an excuse for good characters to do the somewhat consensually-dubious things that I find hot without making them into bad guys, because they genuinely didn't know any better back then.

This seems like a really bad/dangerous attitude to have, but for fiction (and fic)...I'm sorry but I really do love it.
