You say that like it's weird to think that maybe one of the earlier, most famous books about profiling and procedure that also spawned several well-known movies focused on profiling and procedure would also lead to a TV series that focused on profiling and procedure. Now, I totally understand wanting to do something different with the series, but let's not act like it's the only rational choice for people to expect.

I haven't seen the show, but: Bryan Fuller is at the helm. It sounds pretty close to the style of his other work, but a lot darker. You are NOT going to have an L & O with Bryan Fuller. I think people are pretty okay with that.

Yeah, if it was a different showrunner, it might be more traditional procedural, but as long as Bryan Fuller is running it, it's not going to be that way. The man actively thinks outside of the box in every production he works on.

There's like 3 or 4 NCIS or CSI variants, at one time there were 3, or 4 possibly, L&O variants, including L&O: UK...so it wouldn't be an unheard of thing to have two profiling type shows. Besides, I love the fuck out of John Douglas. I'd watch just about anything inspired by him.

But that's me.
