I am really, really tired of 5'6-5'8, 115-lb brown-haired Caucasian women in television. I've stopped watching shows where this was a thing. Women come in all different heights, sizes, and ethnicities! Why should I watch a show where there's no diversity?

ugh I don't watch a lot of tv (I follow exactly 3 shows) but one of the shows I do watch has this problem (Person of Interest). There used to be a main female character who was black, but she was fridged earlier this season and now all the ladies fit the description you posted. I spent weeks thinking they were the same person when they were introduced.

I can't believe how few women in television are even blonde or redheaded. (same thing for men too, really). I mean, there's not even any political shit about blonde or red hair like there can be about size and ethnicity. BUT EVERYONE HAS BROWN HAIR WHAT THE HELL

Watch the news. Nothing but blonde women for miles, REALLY annoying. It's getting better, but the more sexist channels (like Fox) still have blonde as the majority.

It's probably because brown as the default is supposed to make it easier for a majority of the viewers to identify with the character. Just like almost every single male main character in video games of the last 10 years is some mid 20 to mid 30 kind-of-rugged brown haired guy.

I really want a movie where all the women (and yes, lots of women) are very diverse in appearance, but all the guys all have the exact same look, just slightly different clothes and hair cut. And just see how long it takes people watching it to figure out what seems off about it.
