I make a couple of human sacrifices to the gods of plants and harvest while dancing naked and... J/k.

It depends on what's being grown, but I usually start by putting them in pots.

You should water 'em at least twice a week. Putting a crate under the pot and pouring the water there, letting the earth absorb the water I hear is the best for the plant. Just don't add too much water, or it'll rot.

Place it where it gets light, but not direct sunlight.

And I guess you could read up on agricultural astrology if you wanna.
