It didn't get fireflied. It got canceled because it was shitty science fiction delivered through shitty writing and shitty performances.

The only thing it had going for it was a good special effects. Outside of that it was awful. Cliche, flat characters. Bad dialog. No world building. Recycled plots. Bad. Bad. Bad.

I think Taylor got all of two good scenes before I dropped the show. Ealy was wasted throwing testicle jokes against a terribly written straightman. Urban was just plain flat and unlikable.

And then there was Rudy, a character so accidentally repellent, he tops Wunderkid Wesley and Skye on the "Oh just fucking shut up" front.

Even if you got screwed over on Firefly episode order, the Big Idea got sold in almost every episode: black market smugglers and thieves against an oppressive system. Almost Human didn't do much more than wave at the Big Idea in their lap from a safe distance via Dorian's puppy dog eyes most episodes. And by the time they finally addressed it, it was too little, too late for us.

I was going to say something polite like "different people have different tastes, and I didn't like Firefly, but I didn't shit all over you", but you said it better.

If you can't distinguish between criticizing a show for its writing and delivery, and "shitting on" you as a person, you should probably rethink things. I'm a trekkie, and a majority of work in that setting is shit. That's not a matter of taste, it's a matter of craft. Those of us who are grownups can recognize that something just isn't that good and move on.

What you're missing is that as a science-fiction mystery series, Almost Human should have been "my taste." It wasn't because 8 of the 9 episodes I watched failed to deliver all that much in the way of science fiction or mystery. Almost Human had 13 episodes to develop its premise. It failed to do so.
