Anon is opposed to even the POSSIBILITY of trying to build the genre by drawing in new fans (partly because they think it's doomed to failure, but there seems to be something angry-making about it beyond that)

I've never actually seen it. He plays a smug and yet oh so pretty villain in Legend of the Seeker too, though. Though maybe some slight more shades of grey?

I don't know. I just think he's really attractive. Especially with long hair.

That does sound vaguely familiar. I kept an eye out for exactly this the last time I read Mockingjay but I must have missed it. (I found Mockingjay to be kind of dull, so I must have inadvertently skimmed over it.)

How so? Is it really blatant or something more subtle that you have to watch a few episodes to see? My impression was that it exaggerated those sorts of things to make a joke of them, and usually made a point of showing it was a false/wrong idea or attitude by the end of the episode.

I'm only passing familiar with the show though as I usually half-watched it while waiting for the show after and the only thing that really stood out was that "Dropping the Soap in Prison" dream from one of the few episodes I saw the way through.

I had the exact same experience. In the end, I decided to ship every other possible and not-possible ship on it, and had fun for as long as my interest lasted. Am still a bit confused about it all... not mad, just confused.

Are you sure? That doesn't seem like something the company would do, because it can open you up to a boatload of lawsuit-type problems. You can use a celebrity likeness in a parody, but actors tend to want to be compensated for using their likeness. Part of the reason that cartoons based on live action properties, like Ghostbusters, don't have the main characters look anything like the movie versions.

ugh yes, I am nuts about chris/derek. I don't know why I didn't ship it before 3B; I'm usually all about the "romeo and juliet" shit (what with the werewolves being bitter enemies of the argents for a long time and everything). 3B is pretty much when I lost interest in sterek (partly due to reading SO MUCH fic and getting burned out) and started shipping stiles/scott and chris/derek instead
