#9 --- Are you talking about KoiLungFish? If you are, yeah, I always thought that person was really pretentious. People like that are the major reason why I left Transformers fandom.

I never thought that Koi would actually start shit with anyone, though. I'm sorry that your friend had to go through that.

Koi doesn't seem to start shit most of the time. She just has amazingly poor social skills and low reading comprehension ones. So she comes across as amazingly pretentious and negative and doesn't get that that's what people are seeing.

That's my experience, though. #9's mileage seems to have varied.

I was a fan for years and basically quit buying the books when I realised the turn in NiC was the way the series was heading. LKH slaughtered her series in the worst way and I can't believe people think the books are getting BETTER.

The worst thing is I can't believe LKH actually writes what the Anita in her head tells her to do. It is just freaky.

Oh man, have you read the novel translations on phantombrave? They were so awesome, it made me really sad to know that Ash actually fell in love with Jasmine and he kind of couldn't do anything about it for three years. S-Since they were bffs and it would just not work and- ughhh. Ash is my favorite out of the whole game. I can totally see the Haze and Jasmine love~ ;_; ♥

31- I honestly don't get the whole better when cursed argument for Beast. He was born human, why shouldn't he be rewarded with the curse being broken if he... does what breaks the curse? It isn't as if he was born Beast and turns human at the end. I agree that Disney's Prince form is sort of ridiculous looking, but Belle/Beauty fell in love with him as Beast so it doesn't in the least bit go against the message of loving someone for what's inside. She was just relieved that he was alive. I don't really care if he's hotter, from a storytelling pov I think the idea of the curse not being broken sucks.

I would hate the story if the curse wasn't broken. (I actually hate Shrek's twist on it for similar reasons, because Fiona becoming something she's not just gives a message that ugly people belong with ugly people. Why didn't she just stay human and then end up with Shrek?)

*sigh* As if we needed more bashing of our fandom :P
There are plenty of places that talk about the 'dark' side of pony fandom swearing and killing and hating each other just like in real life. There is still the adults only secton, the catfight forum, evildeadpony's forum etc.

Just becuase we all want a place were people get along and are in touch or have never left their inner childs does not mean that we don't have college level minds, jobs, etc.
It is just nice for once to have a place that is free of all the darkness of real life, rants etc, where we can be ourselfs.
If the arena does not fit in with who you are as a pony fan no one is forcing you to post there or link that to all of what pony fandom is.... Becuase it isn't.
But really, still having an imagination is not that awful of a thing when you are older :P. I would much rather collect something that makes me happy than something that makes me look 'grown up' just to 'grow a brain' as you put it.
I have a brain, the fact that a section it still is able to youthful and look on the bright side of life is something that benfits my real life world, and I would not have it any other way.

lol, makes me wonder how old the person is who made #6. Pony collecting isn't life for most collectors. We have jobs, families and college degrees. Pony collecting is a hobby, like going to the movies or playing WoW. Granted there are annoying people within every group of people who share the same hobby, but with an average age of 25-30, I'd hardly say the pony community is a bunch of kids. Many of us have our own kids. And from a personal note, having a forum where people are civil and polite to each other really isn't such a bad thing. But then, I guess I prefer polite people to rude ones, which may not be the case for everyone. *shrug*

I don't mind when the mods try and keep it upbeat. What I do mind is that people who moderate the Arena PARTICIPATE in the catfight forums and openly bash and hate on other members. Only to watch other Arena members join in on the bashing and then join in with subtle snaky comments on the Arena in an effort to get the person they hate to make just one wrong comment so they can have the person banned or warned.


So you know what...fuck every moderator at the Arena (Hello, LOA that would be you dear) who pretends to play nice and mod fairly when really she's just leading her little catfight forums clicks into bating members they don't like into misbehave in the Arena so she can abuse her powers there to "ban" or "warn".


You may not like that the Arena is a nice place but it is what it is. If you don't like it, don't use it. If you MOD it...then maybe you shouldn't knock it openly elsewhere online, under the same exact username you use there, and then get your catfight bitches to gang up on members who you Fmod and therefore FORCE to be nice to each other.

Well you're only forced to be nice if you're not on the catfight forum, because hey....if you're on the catfight forum it's a free ticket to snark other Arnea members into a tight corner. If they bitch back, Loa "warns you to be nice". If you say nothing the catfight bitches feel amused.


So you know what's worse than a over the top happy go lucky sugar coated fandom? The one full of backstabbing two-faced power tripping bitches.

I have a theory that Disney's Beauty and the Beast is based specifically off of Robin McKinley's "Beauty," given that I believe that the idea of a bookish, retiring Beauty and enchanted, sentient furniture were both McKinley's innovations.

Although this comment is way too late so nobody's going to see it, but oh well.

And yeah, it's a great story all around.
