Yup! Arena mods gang up on anyone that says anything slightly bad about any one of them. They wield the mod stick with a little to much abandon. Loa especially. I'm not sure about that other stuff, but it's nice to see I'm not the only one that feels that there is a problem.

I'm posting anonymously so I won't get the "awesome ladies" from the CF on my back (ha, yeah right, most of them are too morbidly obese to be awesome in any sense, much less able to back up their offers to "take it outside"... and I think I'd break all my bones if they got on my back!), but I agree with the OP, whoever it was.

You said everything I wanted to say, but just couldn't get in the right words without adding in cussing all over the place. I think Loa would seem like a perfectly nice person, except she goes shooting off her stupid opinions about MEMBERS on another board. Two-faced, much? Mods are supposed to be above MOST of the petty bitching and backstabbing that the CF thrive on. Grow the hell up, high-school-princess-wanabees.

You know, I'm not crazy about The Arena either. I don't like the group-think that goes on there. A lot of the people there are cool, but there is a large group of naive, childish, and ignorant girls there. Girls who complain about having a new "illness" every week for attention and girls who go through pets like candy. Whenever a deep topic comes up, they don't understand the subject but put in their two cents anyway, and when someone counters it with a sane argument, they reply with "teehee, UR wrong" or the cliche "oh well the world would be boring if everyone thought the same way!" And they freely rip off the rest of the pony community. I'm sorry but your photo hunts will never be Wolfie's photo hunt, no matter how closely you follow her format. You never should have ripped her off like that.

But the girls are The Arena are Borg and if you disagree with them you are a horrible person. Assimilate, or go to the Trading Post.

Now having said that, I'm betting that the person who posted the original complaint about The Arena probably dislikes it for all the wrong reasons. They're probably a scammer who got caught or someone who was banned for trolling or flamewars. Hey like I said--assimilate, or go to the Trading Post.

Until someone posted a link to fandomsecrets from the Arena mentioning this thread I had no idea this whole "catfight" forum existed. Like someone else already said, I don't really care that they do what they do, or that they exist, or that they claim to dislike me. It's a free country. It's a free internet. Whatever. Some Catfight girls go on and on about having the balls to say what they say and some go on about Karma. I don't make Anonymous comments, and I don't spend my time on a hate forum, so I'm not worried about either my balls or my Karma. Thanks.

That being said I do find it disturbing that moderators on the Arena are also moderators on the CatFight Forums. I'm not going to bother looking who is what mod of what forum and bash individuals because honestly I just don't care that much. The Arena is a private forum, the only difference is now I just have a little less respect for the Arena and all it's moderators. I'm not sure what to think of a forum that edits out "shit" as if that was a big deal when moderators are creating public hate threads almost 200 pages long, broken down into two or more different "Part One" & "Part Two" threads.

The forums seem to be exact opposites of one another, with very different attitudes. I agree with this comment (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomsecrets/100858.html?thread=21295610#t21295610) that, given those circumstances and those comments, I don't see how you can mod one fairly and mod the other fairly. It strikes me as an extremely unprofessional thing to do, but hey, no one said any of the moderators were supposed to be professional.

I, too, am remaining anonymous for the obvious reasons. Which, seems sort of sad. What sort of "wonderful" community would have people scared shitless to speak their minds?

Anyways. I disagree with everything that tepper has done on eBay. That is, I wouldn't do it myself. But I think that it says less about her character than it's being suggested. I think that it says as much about the character of My Little Pony collectors for the response the issue had. Talk about drama llama. Isn't that the pot calling the ke... well you get the point.

Quite frankly, it scares me how seriously most of them take collecting. Can't we just all admit that we've done some shady things and that NONE of us are perfect? Everyone get off their high horses and tepper needs to accept the fact that what she did is going to piss people off and it wasn't exactly cool.

Do you know WHY she said that? Because Snap spends a lot of time making snarky comments that are barely within the rules of the Arena. She causes a lot of headaches for the staff. And she hasn't been banned, and anyone who publicly calls her out on the Arena for her nastiness gets their hands slapped too. Just ask Tealslippers.

God forbid Loa actually gets to voice her gripes and concerns once in a while. Most of her comments pertain to people that MAKE HER JOB HARDER, i.e. either break the rules or try to bend them. And believe me, she and BM and every other mod chastise us just as much when they thinks we're stirring shit on the Arena and their other boards. Oh, and BTW, as far as I know LOA IS NOT A MOD AT THE CF.

The Catfight forum was originally created as a place to take fights after threads got locked so that people wouldn't muck up the Trading Post (and now the Arena, too). It's evolved over it's life to become a general rant board, with it's own community. It acts as a pressure valve so that kiddies on the sugar boards aren't subjected to adult flamewars (for the most part). We post there out of respect for the mods of other boards.

The CF is also responsible for ousting quite a few scammers. Many of it's members are long-standing and well known within the community. Many of those same members where called out at the board, and after arguing it out and proving themselves (thus earning respect), they became regulars on the site.

So many people want to say that the CF is full of snarky, fat, ugly bitches with nothing better to do that be nasty and skanky and that our "clique" gets people banned (Hahahahahahahahaha - we wish it were that easy).

*sigh* People who say that obviously don't know the CF and haven't taken the time to actually read the threads. They've got this "holier-than-thou" attitude and think they're "better than us", with some seriously misconceived notions that they don't want to change.

People need a reality check. The only difference between them and us is that they snark in private (or ANONYMOUSLY on LJ). We're willing to call out someone when we feel they're being a twat, and they're MORE THANK WELCOME to come to the CF and defend themselves. Believe it or not, if they argue with grace and civility, so will we (most of us, anyway).


It's not an "evil" place. It's just adult. The "darkside" of ponydom if you have to go that far. And anyone is welcome to come try it.
