Yeah, I can see why this is a secret ... mostly because you liked the names. D:

I always thought Rose would have been a good name for a Potter kid, since it would keep the flower theme of his mother's name going (and Petunia). So I was a little disappointed to see it go to the Weasley brood, but I'm not terribly upset over naming the kids James and Lily.

But ... Scorpius? Albus Severus?

Scorpius is a terrible name by Muggle standards, but it seems about right for Malfoy traditions and well within the bounds of acceptable wackness by general Wizarding standards. And unless things have changed a lot in the W. World, that's what matters -- it's not like lil' Scorpers is going to have to get a job in the private sector and fall victim to prejudicial resume sorting (though I would read that fanfic). It's probably a family name.

and well within the bounds of acceptable wackness by general Wizarding standards.

Exactly. In a world where nobody bats an eye at Gilderoy or Xenophilius, Scorpius sounds positively bland.

yeah but it also just sounds fucking dumb, and i think that's a valid reason to dislike it

Also, Scorpius has a direct correlation to Scorpio, the constellation, and there is an obvious tradition in the Black family (Narcissa's family) for constellation names, which managed to get passed onto Draco.

That means Draco is honouring a family tradition - one from his mother's family.

WRONG, Lily Luna is adorable and Scorpius rules, the end.
