It's a sci-fi/cyberpunk open world game. Ubisoft have been hyping the shit out of it for the past six months.

I thought about getting it, but... I'm not buying an Ubisoft game on PC ever again. Maybe I'll get it on PS3, but at a discount. I pretty much blew my gaming budget this year on Wolfenstein and Dark Souls 2.

Why will you not buy an Ubisoft game on PC ever again? What happened?

Huh... thank you for telling me. Seems I have no way to play it. No wonder I didn't hear about it until now.

They've been hyping the shit out of it for years. It was showcased at the past three PAX Easts.

The million special editions/the blandly generic backstory are enough for me to want to see it fail, even though it's the only thing for the PS4 for ages.

Welcome to fucking Ubisoft. I think this is their sci-fi rendition of Assassin's Creed.

I spent my money on Wolfenstein: The New Order instead. Regrets: 0.

Eh, I haven't been keeping up with gaming news lately but what I've seen of Watch Dogs looks good and I'm hoping it'll turn out to be something special. I don't care if Ubisoft is pimping it everywhere...that's what gaming companies do. You don't have to buy any of the special editions, and while that many IS ridiculous, it isn't like this is the first series that has offered multiple options. *shrugs*

As long as the actual game is good, I think it should succeed. (And since I think the premise holds promise, yea, I want it to be decent so I can eventually play and enjoy it.)

YEP.

I don't want it to succeed primarily because it's Ubisoft.

I was okay with it until all the special editions. That shit just irritates me. I hate it when they do it with movies, too. No, I do not want to have to buy versions at x-amount of stores just to get all the content.

Eh, most of the content will be made available as DLC after the exclusivity window ends. This isn't always the case, but it happens.

It looks pretty meh to me.

I hadn't realised there was so much advertising put into it - everyone I know has been so-so-not-too-excited about it and that poster isn't grabbing my attention so *shrug*

I'm hoping for the best, but that's just how I am. But I totally agree on the pushing. They've been hyping it up hard for a long time now that I'm getting a bit tired of it. It was the same with Titanfall.

This looks like "Person Of Interest: The Game", but without the interesting characters and plot development.

I canceled my pre-order as soon as I found out about the blatant over-use of female nudity and sexual bullshit. I'm sick of it.

I canceled mine when the promos went from "smiling dude uses hacking to solve problems" to "angsty dude out for revenge uses guns to solve problems, the eleventybillionth installment of".

They do the same thing with the Assassin's Creed franchise and the formula has yet to completely fail them in that game thus far.

Obviously Ubisoft found a formula that works and until it doesn't, will keep using it- ie, multiple versions with exclusivities in them, sequels, etc.

I say, good for them.
