In my fandom, all the silly, fluffy, brainless OOC fic gets tons of reviews, faves, kudoes, etc. The deep, thought-provoking, in-character fics? I'm one of the few who leaves feedback.

Then people want to know why no one writes the good stuff.

I've been sorely tempted to go over to "the dark side" several times, myself, but I just can't bring myself to do it yet.

I completely agree. With all of it.

I still do the research and wrestle the canon because it's fun, and because it matters to me, It's like putting in an easter egg .. for yourself.

A fic I spent maybe two hours on, tops, is way more popular than fics I've spent months on. Idk man, people just like fluffy stuff.
