lmao i'm pretty surprised by the fact that there's so much positive response to this secret. more people read here than write, i guess?

i feel like maybe you should step away from the computer for a while if this is actually something that makes you angry, op. a lot of authors just don't take fandom that seriously and they just write for fun because it makes them happy. i mean, no one's getting paid, no one owes you good fic, and you don't owe anyone your attention. just backbutton out.

Writers can be the harshest critics. We worked our asses off creating a story we were proud of/pleased with/whatever, and we put it out there and it's next to this pile of shit?

(And there's the whole factor of people who got burned for writing OOC or untrue-to-canon fic not wanting to let someone else get away with it. If I can't post my self-insert, neither can you!)

yeah i guess that makes sense. i just figured that readers don't really take into account what's around the fic re: fic listings and just go for whatever piques their interest.

I'm pretty surprised, too. Not that long ago most people here would have told OP to lighten up. Fandom really isn't about having anymore it seems.
