I'm maybe in the minority here, but I love the optimistic girls. Not just idealistic, but unshakably determined in the face of danger or against overwhelming odds. They want to beat their demons by being bright and sparkling in an idealistic way and seeing the best in people.

I dunno, Sandry from the Circle of Magic and Rapunzel from Tangled come to mind.

The quiet, shy, dreamy, loner, bullied woobie boys with tragic pasts are also my type, though. Charlie in the film of Perks of Being a Wallflower, Sam Winchester at the beginning of SPN to some extent, Tobias from Animorphs.

It's the idealistic types I go for.
