(Anonymous) 2014-05-31 12:50 am (UTC)(link)The good news is people already are having fewer children - the global birth rate has declined and in some countries, it is below replacement rate. Other countries still have high birthrates, but they will most likely decline, too, given time. There are still a lot of children being born these days, but that's because there is such a large population of women of child-bearing age right now due to higher birth rates in the past.
