I'm not sure if it the same anon or not tbh. But it kinda seems like it is. They brought it up when someone was just talking to elephantinegrace about something. Brought it up out of the blue.

I was looking for a reaction from FS (I mean, otherwise I wouldn't have posted it) but I didn't want to make anybody uncomfortable or feel triggered, and if you were, I'm honestly sorry.

I thought the response is actually kind of funny. I've been enjoying myself trying to play into all of the anon's horrified ideas of who I am, if it actually makes you uncomfortable I can stop responding. I don't like the idea of innocent bystanders getting hurt.

Partially. Waiting to report a man with a seriously ill daughter for stealing supplies until I was in a situation where he'd get fired for it and I'd get promoted, all because he stole one of my ideas a year before this occurred actually did happen, so I am a pretty terrible person. But I don't usually get as big of a response to things I post as I did to the Harry Potter sorting secret, so I decided to react in a way that would elicit an even bigger response. But yeah, I didn't want to trigger anybody. I mean, I know how shitty that feels like, so I'm really sorry I triggered you.

You...didn't trigger me. I'm not sure where you got the impression that you did.

I was just uncomfortable with you basically going out there and saying "I have no remorse about doing bad things to people as long as it benefits me". I'm not saying you're a sociopath, just saying that I think that is bad behavior and you should stop doing that. I was just kind of nonplussed at first that anyone would admit to something like that with no apparent shame. It is kind of creepy.

So you're all super sensitive right now about the fact that seeing the words "sociopath" and "narcissist" might upset someone, but you didn't care at all that you might upset someone by saying that you ruin lives. Okay.

There were multiple people who were very uncomfortable with what you said in the original thread, myself included, and you really didn't seem to care. It strikes me as ingenuine that acting now like our feelings matter now.

The thing is, you're all anonymous. I don't even have the back of an icon's head to tell you apart. As far as I know, you're the anon who comes up with eloquent comments talking about what you want to happen to me, and her/his responses are just so frigging funny that I don't want them to stop.

So you don't...actually....care.

Well, no. You're not human to me, you're a grey box and the word "anonymous" in parenthesis. And you write hilarious comments. diet_poison has a name attached to her/his comments.

If you take public transportation on a regular basis, you'll kind of see the same people. You might not know their names, but you recognize their faces (unless you can't recognizes faces, then replace that with...IDK, smells or something). Then you get on a bus, squished by faceless strangers. Now imagine that this is your stop, one of the faceless strangers are in your way, and one of the people who wait at the stop with you is also in your way. I have to push them out of my way, but I'm only going to apologize to the person who waits at the stop, if I apologize at all.

The thing is, I and every other anon here is human.

The thing is, you and every other anon are an indistinguishable grey blob that occasionally spits out words.

See, that's part of what makes you upsetting and a little scary. The only thing separating the person you might apologize to from the person you won't is familiarity. The stranger is still a person. They're still human. You not personally knowing them doesn't make them something else or something less.

Your example doesn't work for people who aren't like you.

Or you could say "excuse me, I have to get off here", coupled with pushing if necessary. Because I'd be pissed if someone on the bus just pushed me without any preamble.

Then you're obviously not interested in my wellbeing, so don't pretend you care about it.

They could be anyone, couldn't they? They could be someone you know, one of those "familiar strangers." Lots of named users post anon from time to time.

That was a poor choice of words, but I couldn't think of anything better.

I want to stir the pot, but I don't want to burn anybody. If people I ~kindasorta~ know and have to be civil on a website about feel uncomfortable, that's my line in the sand.

I'm also expecting emails so I want this whole thing to die, but at the same time I have the self-control of a gnat so I keep responding to comments.

It looks like one of the anons was a troll. Or maybe my admittance that I was trolling made her/him want to save face. IDK, I guess I ended up coming around and pressing my own berserk button with people starting to throw around psych diagnoses.

Who cares, they're just faceless grey blobs, anyway. Right?

I would like to say that this is one of the most amazing series of threads I have ever encountered on f!s. I guess it's not as good as husky wank, but...it's still up there.
