Brittany is bisexual, the fans just didn't like it when she has a boyfriend

Exactly, Brittany was bisexual. How could the writer write bisexuals at all if he doesn't believe in them? I don't understand this.

Glee did go downhill rapidly through. Pity. It was so great at the start. That first episode shower scene! Glee never really reached the heights again of its own first episode.

So you think JK Rowling believes in wizards?

ZING!

The problem is that a) they never even mention the word and b) Kurt shames Blaine for the possibility of being bi, and Santana, post-break-up with Brittany, basically tells her new gf something along the lines of being happy to be be with a girl who only likes the ladies, not one who'd leave her for a boy (I'm paraphrasing, but you get the general idea).

It's like he lets bisexuality exist in the universe, but as a sort of reluctant second-class option. I can see how that would not be very empowering if you're a bi teen watching the show.

Then she dumps that girlfriend offscreen and goes to lesbos island with Brittany

Yeah, but them getting back together doesn't quite make it right that was said in the first place...unless I misunderstood?

The comments between Santana and Demi-Lovato-girlfriend were explicitly the final straw for me watching that show. I was done with that shit.

That shit very much exists IRL - but having not watched that far, I'm guessing it wasn't as a "and this is why biphobia by the LG communities sucks, kids" episode by your reaction.

Since they were set up as jokes intended to further the romance, no, it was not that kind of episode. I had been ignoring the hints of unacknowledged biphobia, but when they brought it to the only character I was still watching for, that was it for me.

See I'm bi and it's shit like this that has made me too scared to try and pursue a same-sex relationship with anyone who identifies as gay. I know it's probably *mostly* in my head but I'm scared that if I try to get romantically involved with/ask out/whatever a gay girl I'll get dismissed as an experimenter who's a waste of her time.

I try to stand tall being bi, and admittedly I haven't personally faced any terrible rejection for it, but it's just clear to me that if a gay girl reacts that way to me, she's the waste of my time. Much easier to say in theory than swallow in practice, of course. But to me it's just as likely that I'd meet a guy with distasteful views and that would be a deal breaker even if he was still interested in me. So I don't know. I'm more interested in women as it is, but I haven't had much romance of any kind.

Unfortunately it happens both ways. When I was with a guy, he confessed that he was always a little afraid I was going to realize I liked girls better and leave him for one.
