This is an old one but one that was like...super pervasive (like I think in almost every fic).

In Dragonball Z there was Saiyan bonding. Like, when a Saiyan mated with their partner they could bite their neck and by telepathically connected. I have no idea where it came from, but it was EVERYWHERE.

Er...that sounds vaguely like how the Demons worked in Inuyahsa...which may or may not be fanon there. It was never truly stated in the show/manga if that is a thing.

I'd go as far to say it is pretty common for fandoms with demons and other supernatural beings that even vaguely animalistic. This shit was pretty common in Yu Yu Hakusho fandom iirc.

Oh man I loved the shit out of that trope but it really was everywhere. I have no idea where it came from either, it just popped up one day and fandom ran away with it completely.
