Have you tried/are you vegetarian/vegan?

No, but I eat very little meat. Maybe 3 meals with a meat in them a week. I prefer fresh veggies and fruits, cheeses and breads, to meats, but I still eat them occasionally.

Vegetarian for 10+ years, was vegan for a little over a year in the middle but it was too expensive and difficult for me to sustain.

The day they start drug testing for chicken I'll never get another job again.

Nope. I love veggies and fruits, but I also love meat and wouldn't give it up unless I had to.

No. I did try asking my doctor if that was something I could do, but she said that with my periodic iron issues and my other eating issues, it probably wouldn't be safe.

I was vegetarian for 8 years.

It was never particularly for the animals, although I do love animals. It was mainly because I didn't like the taste or texture of meat.

I started eating fish again when I went to Japan when I was 16, just to make it easier on my host family and to fully be able to enjoy the experience of being in Japan, and I just kept going, really. I started eating chicken again when I went to university out of pure laziness, and gradually introduced red meat back into my diet after that, although I do make sure I only eat organic/free range.

I doubt I'll ever go vegetarian again, I have a lot more energy and get sick a lot less now that I eat meat again. I'd never be able to go vegan, I love chocolate/cheese too much. But I admire those who do have the dedication.

I'm mostly vegetarian. Meaning, in my own kitchen and my own money I am vegetarian. But when I travel and others are hosting I try and eat what is offered. However I do let people know I prefer a vegetarian or vegan diet.

Vegetarian here. Though technically I'm pescatarian (sp?) because I occasionally eat fish, mostly in the form of sushi. But I wouldn't say that makes up a regular portion of my diet, either.

I do it for environmental reasons, to reduce my carbon footprint. I am also opposed to factory farming, though I'm not necessarily morally against eating meat, I just feel strongly that animals should be treated humanely.

Yes?...For a month I was completely...vegetarian at least, not sure on vegan, to see if meat was causing digestion problems but it turned out it wasn't. I'm hesitant to say yes on this because while for the most part I'm pretty much vegetarian any given day of the week, about once a week I go out for a burger.

Vegetarian since I moved out of my parents' house and couldn't be arsed to cook meat any more. Cutting out dairy has positive effects on my health whenever I remember to do it, but I love cheese so I hardly ever bother.

Nope, I love meat too much.

Vegetarian for seven years and counting. Started because I didn't want to eat animals, continue now because of factory farming and environmental reasons. I also try to minimize my dairy consumption, but I'm not at all strict about that.

Tried being vegetarian a few years ago but I missed bacon cheeseburgers and pepperoni pizza too much.

I'm pescetarian...I use the word vegetarian when declining chicken or beef (because it's simpler and "pescetarian" sounds super pretentious) but technically I am not one.

I could be, though, if I wanted to. It's not as big a deal as I used to think it would be. But giving up seafood would be much harder than giving up red meat and poultry was. :/

No, but I'm extremely picky about meat. Weird about food in general.

I've been vegetarian for nearly 25 years. I can't digest more than a few bites of meat at a meal, so it's just not cost-effective to be any other way, and after so long most meat doesn't taste like anything anyway. It's just bland and sticks in my teeth, so I wouldn't bother if I could.

But I'm endlessly curious, so if someone with me is eating an animal I've never tasted before, I'll ask for a bite.

Was strictly ovo-lacto vegetarian for about a year. Went back to eating meat after medical complications started arising. I felt great about my lifestyle, but it didn't work for me for reasons no normal person with a functioning colon would ever have to worry about.

It wasn't hard to do and it was a lot cheaper to eat that way than it is being omnivorous. That said, I still only eat meat every other day.

I grew up as one due to my church (Seventh-Day Adventism has been encouraging ovo-lacto vegetarianism since to 1800s, as well as abstaining from smoking and drinking alcohol), but there was the occasional take-way that had meat, like visiting MacDonalds, getting fish and chips or chinese.

From my late teens onwards, when I started having control of my own money, I started buying a bit of meat along the way and now I have it quite regularly - fish, chicken and beef, but no pig products because my church does believe that if you do eat meat, you should follow the clean/unclean guidelines (yes, that means no shellfish either, only fish with both scales and fins).

I've accidentally been vegetarian for a few months, but that was mostly because all the good vegetables were in season, I really was in the mood for rice and beans, and I didn't notice I wasn't eating meat. It's not a choice I'd ever make deliberately, probably.

Vegetarian since I was 9 (21 years now). I was vegan for 8 years.

No, but only because I'm lazy. Honestly I would live off cereal if I could.

I try not to eat meat so much but I wouldn't want to be a vegetarian - even if I didn't eat steaks and stuff like that anymore, I would still miss the occasional bacon with potato salad or beans. I would have little problem not eating seafood though. I could never be vegan, I love baked goods, milk products and honey too much and in my country, it's really difficult to find the proper subsitutes for eggs and milk.

Oh god, super late reply, but I've been vegan for nearly two years now. (I was TECHNICALLY vegetarian before that, but only for a week. Went vegetarian on the 13th of July 2012, vegan on the 20th.)
