It's going okay.

Why are people on here so nosy about jobs? I feel like have more of these threads than sex-related ones? That said I'm probably bitter because I'm unemployed.

Maybe spreadsheet!anon is struggling to sort out their data and needs more input.

Maybe they need to come up with more original questions, like "what are the seasons like where you live?" and "what are your country's stereotypes about its neighbors?" or "what do you do when you enter someone else's house?"

what job

I'm getting put in charge of three fresh out of boot probies as 'senior' operational officer.

It's both amazing and terrifying.

I've got so many ideas about what we can now do, but if they get themselves hurt it's going to be my fault.

I somehow keep misreading part of that first sentence as "fresh bodies" #needsleep

I'm still loving it.

I like my job but it's very slow and I'm forever waiting for people to give me simple, basic bits of information.

Nonexistently, as always.

i got the results for my finals! i did pretty well, all things considered. well enough to pass, anyway.

I'm so bored of it and am seriously considering just quitting, though I really should get another one first. But I'm just so boooooooored. I've literally been doing the exact same thing 2-4 times a week for the past 3-4 months.

Well, American farmers are, on the whole, paranoid, bitter, and angry.
Canadian farmers, on the whole, are very polite, friendly and accommodating.

People in Iowa don't seem to know what a non-profit organization is and put *way* too much trust in the Salvation Army to 'do what is right'.

Everybody seems to like Cracker Barrel.

Snowmobilers seem to lean heavily into the 'adrenalin junkie' category, as well as having a *lot* of disposable income.

Seems like I'm the only person in my entire workplace who actually knows the difference in the US time zones.

All in all? Good. :)

Leaving it tomorrow because I hate it!! =D This has been a shit week so I'm so glad I'm leaving it.

I'm glad you made this thread because I GOTTA RANT.

I landed this job and I was like "this is it! This is what I've been waiting for!" BUT OH FUCK.

This company is weirdly bureaucratic and obsessed with paperwork, and I came from a company that was like "fuck paperwork, it's wasteful; let's get rid of as much of it as we can!" So I got used to doing everything electronically and having people trust me to do my job correctly, but now I have to deal with all these weird rules and I'm like "WHY" and everyone's like "there's no good reason, it's just 'cause. Do it." And I'm making mistakes that are all just related to paperwork. Like, I'm following all the regulations and all the procedures, I'm just not using the correct forms, and this is incredibly frustrating to me.

I basically went from knowing everything in my office to knowing nothing and having to do things that make no sense, and it's really getting me down.

That sounds depressing. Do you work in government by any chance?

While I still don't have a full time job, I'm going through the process of possibly getting some part time work with the postal service. I'd start out making just slightly under what I first made at my last job (which was a full time gig), but that gives me time/mental energy to continue looking for full time work and work on developing my coding skills so I can make inroads into going into IT.

Pretty good. My boss admits we're both in the same boat when it comes to fixing some depreciated code (neither of us has been formally instructed in the language in question, so we're both sort of lost, so he certainly can't fault me for it), my coworker-clients think I'm a genius for finding/fixing errors in the assignments they sent me, and all summer long our employer has mandated three-day weekends (so they can turn off the AC three days a week instead of just two, which saves on costs).

It's dull, and I feel like I'm stagnating, but I am also just grateful to have gainful employment.

Being trained to drive a 5000lbs battering ram of a vehicle and pull even MORE tons of freight behind me to planes. YAY.

No really, YAY, I really enjoy it. The only downsides is driving in ALL THE WEATHER.

I've worked at the same job for 5 years now, gone through 2 promotions, and for the past 4 months I've been on the edge of my seat brink of flat-out quitting.

I keep having to remind myself that it's pretty much impossible for someone with zero secondary education to find a full-time job with benefits making the same pay rate I currently am, and some days that is quite literally the ONLY reason I haven't handed in my 2-week notice yet.

I'm currently in the running for another promotion, but I really don't think I want it and am almost certain I'm not qualified for it... But it's been heavily hinted to me that if I don't get it my current position at the company is at risk of disappearing.

Yeah, at this point I'm just going to work, doing my job, keeping my trap shut, and practically running out the office doors when my shift is over.

...on the plus side, if they do let me go instead of me quitting, at least they'll have to pay me unemployment. So there's that.
