I know very little about Doctor Strange so I have no idea who would be a suitable candidate for the role, but if Leto gets it...it's going to be weird (at least for a while. I need time to adjust to the idea. Then again, Marvel has done a fantastic job casting the MCU so far, so maybe it'll work out? Or maybe he isn't even the front-runner, idk. We'll see, I guess).

I am aware that's how it will probably play out, but I still like to think it could be someone else who get's to play the good Doctor. I wouldn't mind an attractive, talented Wong; he's at least very good with magic, not sure to the same level as Strange in the comics, and I hope they go for the long haired version of Wong seen in one of the origin story comics.

Just on the shipping predictions, if Strange/Loki isn't a major ship in the aftermath, I'll be very surprised. And possibly a bit disappointed. Hooking up with Loki has to be the Marvel magician's version of dating Catwoman by this stage.

I kind of want to punch people who fancast Idris Elba into every damn role. The same way I want to punch people who fancast Johnny Depp into every role (and lately, Cucumberpatch and Hiddles. And I say this even though I adore Elba and Hiddles.).

Leto...well...he doesn't inspire me.

I find it really funny, though, that you're complaining about the Tony/Steve 'ship. It's kind of a fandom staple, so why do you think that will change much? Tony/Steve is going to be around as long as the Avengers are around in their current configuration.

Same for Bucky/Steve, though they're both in competition with Sam/Steve now. Strange is a random guy who doesn't interact with the Avenges (in the movie verse) at all - why would you expect him or his 'sidekick' to suddenly become the pairing du jour?

Well, I don't think there's anything wrong with Jared Leto and I think he's a pretty good actor.

As far as I've seen, the Jared Leto rumor was just a fandom panic spike. Hopefully that's all it is in the long run because... ew. No.

As for the second part... well, you're not wrong. Looking at the pattern this fandom has of erasing (or villainizing) POC character and refusing to ship them with anyone (perpetuating the "Too cool to NEED a partner" idea with a smattering of racist "independent black woman" tropes), you're probably pretty dead on in your predictions.
