No way! It should go to Nick Cage.

I love Nic Cage as much as any human being should, but Doctor Strange needs a more subtle, laid-back performance than Nic Cage usually gives. Not to mention that Cage has already played another Marvel hero already, and he did the sorcerer thing in Sorcerer's Apprentice and it didn't really work out well.

I wouldn't get angry if they cast him though, they could do much worse and probably will.

Hey, Balthazar was the best part of Sorcerer's Apprentice. Which admittedly isn't saying much, but still. Nick Cage as a sorcerer wasn't the downside of that movie.

You might be right. I only watched that movie once, and I have to admit I don't remember it that well. I should rewatch it, but that would require... you know... rewatching it.

I know, but it is the entertaining kind of crazy that he brings to everything that just sells it for me. Any actor can make a bomb, but only Cage can make a movie so bad it bends the laws of physics in its awfulness.

What. WHAT. Nicolas Cage is a great actor and I will not have you speak about him that way.

Seriously, though, I actually do think he's a good actor. But even if you don't think so, he's been in a hell of a lot of good and/or entertaining and/or successful movies. He's an Oscar-winning actor. You may not find his willingness to commit absolutely to terrible action movie bombs endearing or like his extreme emotiveness, but he's not the touch of doom.

I mean, Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans? That's a great movie. And no one else could have played Cage's part the way Cage played it.
