i think its stupid she punished the other dragons for something drogon did

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
He killed people which made her realize that dragons are not pets. She'd be more responsible if she'd kill them (in a realistic world).

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Thereby driving them to extinction? That's the real world responsible thing to do? That's nuts.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes?

http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/elements/2013/07/an-extinction-to-celebrate.html

Or are you telling these African men, women and children that they should die to feed the worm?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
no, a better comparison would be to kill pitbulls because one attacked a kid

But she's not killing them. She's containing them. The comparison would be more like if you were keeping lions, one of them ate a kid, and you realized lions were not housecats and put them on a chain.

I'd certainly hope that someone with a bunch of pitbulls doing nothing to socialize them or keep them from attacking people would not be allowed to have pitbulls.

Because 3 dragons are totally doing to revive an entire species! One murderous and two potentially murderous dragons. Yes. Two male and one female dragons who are possibly related. The dragon species HAS BEEN SAVED!

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
who are possibly related

That hasn't stopped the Targaryens before.

Biology aside - inbreeding doesn't affect some species as direly as it does humans. It's possible that sibling dragons could kick start the species with few ill effects, provided they breed rapidly and don't, say, lay one or two eggs once every couple of generations.

"potentially murderous"

Okay, Alexander Pierce.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
hasn't she acted like they're her children, not her pets?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That is even worse!

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
was drogon the only one doing such things? i thought this was just the tipping point that made her realise how dangerous and uncontrollable her dragons were becoming (but i could be misremembering the other complaints about livestock and such)

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
drogon was the most aggressive one, he's also the only one who killed the farmer's goatherd

(Anonymous) 2014-06-23 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
it was a little girl

You think it was stupid for her to realize that she could no longer control her animals and that they had become a threat to her people?

What was she supposed to tell that father? "Well, you know how dragons are. Guess your kid was out of luck. NEXT!"

That's a quick way for a riot to start which will turn into a revolution and for her and her dragons to lose their heads.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
it's like cersei having lady killed because nymeria 'attacked' joffrey.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Because Nymeria couldn't be found, they punished Lady instead even though she was innocent.

But the other dragons will behave exactly the same way, because it's just in their nature. Dany is trying to keep them from killing anyone else.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
...There's a dragon named Drogon?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
She named him after her late husband, Drogo. The other two (the ones she locked away) are named Viserion and Rhaegal after her late brothers.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-23 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
glad I'm not the only one sitting here going "really? you named your dragon Drogon?"

(Anonymous) 2014-06-23 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
So?
I find it much better when you name something in honor of something (resembling something dear) than... like naming your child Albus Severus etc. >_>
