I don't agree that Korra is unconvincing as a heterosexual character. That being said, I ship her with Asami because I can't STAND Mako and I think Bolin is boring (he's just comic relief…). I actually thought Asami was interesting due to her problems with her father and I felt bad for how terribly Mako treated her. She and Korra are cute together.

Then again, I stopped watching the show after the first season and the first episode of Season 2. I just couldn't get into the writing.

But I still like looking up fan art and fan fiction of these two.

This is me pretty much too.

Bolin didn't start out as "just comic relief," but the writers apparently forgot how to write him partway through the series. It annoys the shit out of me, and I hope they remember again in the upcoming season, because he's pretty much the only character I care about.

In fairness, the writers did even less with Asami than they did with Bolin, so...

I just found Asami sympathetic. I guess it was the fact that her father's betrayal helped to flesh out her character and gave us more to work with. Whereas, for example, Mako and Korra kissing when Bolin liked her was just played for laughs so it made it difficult for me to take his character seriously. That said, it is disappointing to hear that not much more was done with Asami's character. I guess this just confirms that my decision to give up on the show early in Season 2 was the right one.

Sucks a bit, though, because I love Avatar the Last Airbender and all its characters to pieces.

(If you love the Korra show, though, more power to you! It just wasn't for me.)

Same here; I didn't even bother with Season 2 of Korra because I was underwhelmed by the first. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone. A:TLA will always be superior to me. Its shoes are just too large to fill, and I found the characters far more engaging.

Asami is by and far the best catch for Mako, Korra and Bolin. Whoever actually gets her (probably some schlub we've never met) will be a lucky fucker.

Me too. I could see her as heterosexual of bisexual, but I just loathe Mako, so anyone that keeps her away from him got my sympathies.
