If there's one thing I've learned lately it's that you need to learn to listen to your body and what it's telling you. If you're grossed out by meat (especially the fat) there's a reason for that. Fat is where most of the toxins collect, in people as well as animals. Your body might not want anything more to deal with in the toxin area!

Personally, I get hungry for meat during my period when I need the iron. But I'm much more likely to get hungry for nuts the rest of the time. Nuts have fats that are pretty good for me, as well as protein.

If you learn to listen to your body it can tell you lots of things about how to be healthy.

This is only true up until a point, though. The idea that you can "listen to your body" and know eeeeeverything there is to know misses some very valid points:

* sometimes bodies are a bit messed up and won't be sending the proper signals
* sometimes deciphering those signals is difficult
* "listening to your body" is such a vague concept that it could mean anything

Sometimes I get a craving for pop. Would that be a healthy choice for my body? Sometimes I've eaten a more than adequate amount of a well-balanced meal, but I'm still hungry. Is overeating a wise message from my body? Some people are grossed out by vegetables. Are their bodies right because vegetables contain deadly toxins and should therefore be avoided?

My body tells me that meat fat is fucking delicious, though.
