no, we don't have specific plans. we only have three days so we'll stay in stockholm. we're especially curious about the architecture, the museums and what to drink.

if you have any recommandations, i'd be happy to hear them!

I haven't been to Stockholm more than a handful of times, I'm afraid! But you must visit Gamla Stan. It's a section of the city with just old buildings, including a lot of historical sites such as the square where Stockholm's bloodbath took place. Plus it also has a bunch of fun stores (it's the place to be if you're looking for old Phantom comics, haha). I also recommend visiting Livrustkammaren! It's a museum with a lot of really interesting things, including Streiff himself (no, I don't expect you to know who that is, don't worry).

Hope you have fun :)

gamla stan and livrustkammaren, ok. sounds great! i love visiting historical sites. i hope there also are nice restaurants and bars (i want to see what kinds of beer you've got there!).

googled streiff, and apparently it's a king's horse?

I don't know if I asked, but how did you like the Fargo finale?

fargo finale spoilers

i both liked and disliked it.

i liked that they stayed true to the spirit of the movie. both the movie and the show had a happy ending for the 'good' protagonist. molly's family was safe and happy, just like marge's. i also loved that they refrained from using the movie's theme until the very end of the show; it's a very powerful piece that should be used sparingly.
i liked that we had no closure concerning stavros. from a coen point of view, his arc was complete. and that way i also get to keep my headcanon that he killed himself.
i liked how they ended bill's arc, even though it was predictable. his monologue was very moving and coenesque and odenkirk sold it compeltely.

on the other hand, while i understand that gus killing malvo was a good decision style and characterization wise, i realized when he died that i didn't want him to. for me (and for a lot of other people i think), he was this unstoppable force of evil, and to have him be reduced to a wounded wild animal and then die... idk, it felt really abrupt and anticlimactic.
also, while i appreciate the symbolism of lester's death, i wish he would've been arrested and sent to prison. it would've been worse than death for someone like him, and he deserved it.
i would've liked more closure for other secondary characters, like wrench and gina.

that's pretty much it. wow, that was long.

I agree with all of your positives! Especially concerning Molly and her family.

But I was glad that Malvo died. I hate when villains escape. No Country For Old Men (though I know it was based on a book) made me apprehensive about this show (even though the Coen brothers didn't write it).

I would have enjoyed Lester's death being a bit more brutal. But I can see why they didn't go with prison just because it would have been less final.

for me there are villains i want to see the heroes beat (the cowardly and slimy kind, like lester) and others i don't (more unabashedly evil like malvo). i'm glad lester died but i wouldn't have minded if malvo had escaped scot free.

lester going to jail would've echoed his movie counterpart's fate. both scenes were the last of the movie/show, and they both featured the character who thought they were free being apprehended by the police in a remote location. lester being captured would've made it a perfect echo.
but, like i said, i appreciate the symbolism, with the ice becoming more and more fragile underneath him until it finally cracked.

I would've enjoyed Lester going to prison as well, but tbh I thought him dying the way he did was extremely fitting. His pride (especially when Malvo gave him an out and he wouldn't take it) and sense of self-preservation (when he first started lying, and fucking other people over to protect himself) was what got him into this whole mess in the first place, and in the end it was those very things that killed him. (At least that's how I saw it.)

I'm just disappointed Mr. Wrench or Mr. Numbers didn't show up again (because apparently Numbers had an extra scene in the trailer). :( I would've been okay with Wrench killing Malvo (ngl, I am happy he died), but at the same time that Gus did it was alright. (Malvo 'making him a killer', and all.)

Still glad Molly and Gus and everyone got out alive. God, I was SO worried. And Bill's arc was fantastic, even if, like you said, it was predictable. They pulled it off nicely.

that's how i saw it too, and afaik that's how we were supposed to see it. it fits the coen universe; the idea that things balances themselves out, somehow. iirc bill even said something like that once.

i'l hope they'll include the extra scene from the trailer in the dvd. i was so disappointed that they cut it out, it looked so fun :( i can't have enough of these two.
i understand what they did with gus's character. it makes sense. but still, wrench shoving malvo in the woodchipper would've been awesome.

glad i was wrong about gus dying and that the whole family made it. when lou decided to stay on the porch with a shotgun i thought he'd die, but when greta joined him i knew he wouldn't. still, was a bit scared for a moment there.

They probably will. Great, now I'm going to have to buy the DVD. (Though it would be 100% worth it because this show was incredible. Have you heard anything about a second season with a different cast?)

but still, wrench shoving malvo in the woodchipper would've been awesome.

I need fanfic of that.

And same about Lou. I was filled with affection and love for that man (more than usual, even) and that's when I said, "No, no, he's dead". Thankfully we were both wrong! And Greta joining him was adorable. I love those two.
