not everything every show does is a veiled response to slash fan theories

(Anonymous) 2014-06-26 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
WAHT???? Are you telling me writers' don't revolve their planning and scripts around the popular slash pairings in fandom? WAHTTTTTTTTTT?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-26 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. Because you need to be a crazy slash fan to see some potential homoerotic subtext between those two, when Ramsay regularly creeps feels him up in every possible way, calls him "my Reek" while being "close enough to kiss" and seems generally the kind of guy who would think it's a great idea to rape the dude he's torturing.

Nothing to do with "slash fan theories", it's not too much of a stretch to assume that a male/male relationship where one bathes the other and asks him if he loves him would be interpreted as gay by the producers.

warning for swearing and bestiality

(Anonymous) 2014-06-27 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Also, how about an option of Ramsay being pansexual?
I also think he'd take goats so that's not fitting to the 'if he has a girlfriend that's all he cares about'. To me it's about partnership, he's found someone who's as fucked up and he wants to share his conquests and also to have someone to answer his needs. Maybe I'm thinking too lowly of Ramsay and I haven't read the books but this is how I see him.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-26 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
TBH, I think Ramsay is more into power than the sex or gender of his associates.

This.

Wait a few episodes and this chick will be stuffed in the fridge. Then Ramsey will go on torturing Theon.

I would rather not have Ramsay dating anyone, honestly.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-26 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
How can anyone as hideous as that get a girlfriend anyway?

The fact that Ramsay hasn't tortured her into a husk of herself/feed her to his dogs is the part I find unbelievable.

This. He wouldn't have a partner in crime, because he'd want to torture them, too.

I don't think it's so much "girlfriend" as "fellow sociopath he might dispose of when he gets bored".

But anyway.

Firstly, that's not even blatantly canon, and secondly, the heavy subtext is still there, "girlfriend"or not.

It scares me that they gave Ramsay a girlfriend, period. I thought all of his sexual relations in the books were noncon.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-26 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
They were all noncon. He's a hideous scumbag who only gets off on tormenting others, especially women.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-26 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
It annoys me that they gave him a girlfriend at all, regardless of what fan theories revolve around him molesting Theon.

It was a pointless and unnecessary detail that was only relevant for one, stupid sex scene and a hunt that could have gone on perfectly well without her.

I get they can't do the Arya plot since Jeyne got omitted, but was she really necessary? Really?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-26 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
was she really necessary? Really?

I don't get how you could think that? The Bolton's whole claim to the North hinges on the marriage of Ramsay and "Arya." With no known surviving sons and Sansa fled, the best direct claim to Winterfell is through Arya. It has to be done through a legal marriage to placate the remaining Northern lords: there's still a "Stark" of Winterfell, the Boltons aren't conquerors. Everyone knows Jeyne isn't really Arya but they're not going to challenge the Boltons (not directly; Manderlay knows about Rickon).

And from a character standpoint, for Jeyne it's about how while things are shitty when you're a major noble (like Sansa), it's even worse to be pretty much noone. For Theon, his relationship with Jeyne is this whole moral arc and rediscovering of his own identity from the brink of madness. That's pretty major stuff.

Oh, and Jeyne Poole did appear in the first episode. But really, they could (and most likely will) still do the "Arya" story next season with just any Northern girl; as long as Theon "confirms" that she is the Arya he lived with in Winterfell then the criteria for the plotline are met. It has more impact with Jeyne because she is also someone Theon knew, but either works.

I hate how they're trying to humanize the guy who rapes and tortures every woman he meets for his own amusement. Fuck the "no homo" stuff, the very idea of Ramsay having a consensual relationship with a girlfriend is just so brazenly OOC and offensive to me. It's also irritating seeing show watchers drooling over him when you know what his real character is actually like.

Couldn't they have just had Ramsay rape women while also being sexually creepy to Theon like they do in the books? This OC's existence literally makes no sense.

I know gay relationships need more representation, but do you really want it in the form of Ramsay/Theon torture porn?

Considering that the last season gave us Ramsay ordering Theon to strip, receiving a sexually charged shave, and talking about needing to be bathed by him, I don't see how it's "no homo."

(Anonymous) 2014-06-27 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
He's already murdered her, though, hasn't he?

During the scene when Asha (or whatever her show name is) came to rescuse him, he was having sex with the girl. She was on top. She was screaming with sexual pleasure, but then it cut away and she started screaming for real. Then, in the next scene, Ramsay shows up all covered in blood. This is before he started fighting Asha and her men.

I think it was implied that he'd murdered the girl while having sex with her. She never showed up again.

Lol smirking villain girlfriends who follow Ramsay around and help him be evil like it's a Saturday morning cartoon. Still not sorry I stopped watching this show.
