Mostly because I think it will spark some discussion, and maybe a bit of wank. Other than that, your secret is basically "video games promote violence", "porn encourages rape", and "but what will become of our youth when they read about nekkid people doing the do".

Video games do promote violence and porn does promote rape, though, boo. Sorry~

Are you one of those people who sound really sweet and use terms of endearment like punctuation but then turn around and spew poison all over the place? Just asking.

Also, what a very convincing argument you made here.

2/10, extra points deducted for being in the thread of a secret that did it better.

Except studies have shown that rape actually goes DOWN when porn is more readily available...

BULL. A hundred bucks says this is a "study" that was cooked up to justify "rape is about poor sexually frustrated menz and it's the fault of those frigid bitches who won't put out on demand" misogyny.

DA

The study anon was referring to is from Northwestern University School of Law, and it's ranked the 11th best grad school in the country. All bets are off about the motivation for the study, but the report itself is relatively short and talks about a correlation at least between access to porn and rape statistics.

Let's see that hundred dollars.

nayrt

if i get to make a guess on that i'm going to go with less stigma and shame about sex leads to less rape and more porn

Are you the lawyer who asked a shrink if a pic of a women with a cucumber up her vagina was garden variety porn?

Also, I think we can all agree that porn has become more readily available since the rise of the internet in the late 90s, right? During that period of time, rape (along with other violent crime) has continued to decline.

Correlation doesn't prove causation, but lack of correlation DOES prove lack of causation.

Are you the anon that harrassed that one person one time who admitted to doing porn and kept telling her she had been raped?
