When one character in a pairing is designated the bottom by fandom (generally decided by size) so that 90% of fics have him as the bottom. O:< That is so annoying.

Yeaaah, I really don't like that. Having a preference yourself is fine(I do with some ships), but when the fandom decides that this is how it must be I find it really off-putting.

Yeah. If the roles aren't given by size, they're usually because of some weird standard about feminine vs masculine, and it just makes the sex scenes such a squick to me.

Yeah, this kind of bothers me too. Especially when it's a fandom designated thing. I have my own preferences, but I once saw someone tear into a fic author because they mistakenly designated a fic as x/y when it was really y/x. I felt bad for the lashing that the author got from that person, it was really rude. :/

I don't think that is even a common practice anymore, to be honest.
