I like slash, and I even like yaoi, and often pairings I like, I have a preferred "seme/uke", at least for aesthetic purposes. But I hate when the slash pairing in question changes the characters - particularly the "uke" role character, describing him as smaller and thinner than he actually is, and giving him a wimpy personality. Especially hilarious in those fandoms where there are rivalries between which guy is the top and which is the bottom, and both sides change the characters accordingly.

IA.

There are characters I like as bottoms and others I like as tops. It has nothing to do with who's manlier or more butch in the pairing or whatever the fuck, it's that I find character X way more attractive as a bottom and character Y way more attractive as a top, no matter who they're shipped with. For all genders.

I hate when people change characters to "fit" them into their idea of what a top or bottom "should" be. The whole point of enjoying character X as a bottom is character X being a bottom, not feminizing X to fit some contrived role. Same goes for making character Y a top by making them more masculine or butch. Ugh.

Oh, heh. I once saw a terrible doujinshi for my OTP, A and B, right? Canonically, A is about half a head taller than B. However, in this doujinshi, B was topping. So they drew him a full head taller than A. It was ridiculous. Like, lol no, B is one of the shortest characters in the cast other than the CHILD characters!

What pairing? Do you still have a lonk to the doujin?

That typo deeply amuses me.

Link/Sheik, and I don't (it was on MegaUpload and has long since disappeared to the four winds), but here is the cover!

...And for comparison, here are their actual heights. Heh.

Lonk is totally Link's twin brother. :)

Oh wow. That's just ridiculous. Man, I wish I could read it.

It's really not worth it, heh. It's not even hilariously bad, it's just boring as hell.

Yeah, I liked a pairing where both characters were the same size. It was an extremely popular anime pairing, and both characters had pretty dominant personalities, but were also quite complex characters so the interpretations were vast - so naturally, which guy topped was a huge debate among slash fans. The other guy would inevitably be described as shorter or thinner. Held true with doujinshi, too. The uke would often be portrayed as a lot shorter and smaller. I get the yaoi genre has trouble breaking away from its mold of smaller = uke, larger = seme, but with this pairing in particular it was just so silly.

Yeah - I find that happens with het as well, on occasion. In Skyward Sword, Link and Zelda are almost EXACTLY the same height - Zelda is a smidge shorter (example, link goes to moving gif). So much fanart draws Link as being, like, a full head taller.

It's even more hilarious when people draw Twilight Princess Link as being taller than trueform!Midna, given that she canonically towers over him, heh.

Actually, this reminds me of one of the things that really annoys me in Free fanart, that I see so many people drawing older Rei and Nagisa with Nagisa now taller than Rei. It seems to happen in a ton of fanart for them, and it always reads to me that these people see Nagisa as the seme and just can't fathom the idea of the shorter character topping, so they have to give him a growth spurt.
