-The animation looks super cheap. Weirdly stiff in some places (esp her hair), and the odd character designs weren't improved by being animated. TBH I spent the entire episode thinking 'I wish Gainax/Kyoani/anyone had picked this up other than Toei'. The characters seem to have two expressions. (1. Eyes open 2. Eyes closed) Really a shame since the first anime and the manga both are SO expressive and give the characters so much life and movement. And the transformation is really really bad compared to the old one. Even the shading on her hand in the beginning is less detailed.

-idr the manga 100%, but from what I can recall this followed it nearly exact. The pacing was really good while still sticking close to the original story. There was a lot more focus on the Usagi/Mamoru romance than in the original show. I can't decide if I like the more heavy-handed approach or not. I'm looking forward to seeing the other sailors, but after watching this (20 minutes of story, four minutes of opening+ending+transformation), I feel like the once-every-two-weeks schedule is insane. Esp at this kind of crappy production level.

-I loved the music all throughout. The opening isn't as catchy as Densetsu or the english dub opening, but it does it's job well enough. The voices were mostly great. Usagi is just as grating as I remember, but tbh with the fairly expressionless animation her voice is the only thing really bringing her to life.

Except that I don't really feel anything from the opening song. It is just bland and doesn't really grab my attention. It is pretty forgettable imo.

I'm not sure if I'd want current Gainax handling this considering they're a shell of their former self. And kyoani, just no. I shudder to think about Kyoani Sailor Moon designs. As for the designs Toei gave, I'm so undecided on them. Espeially now that I've seen them in action. One minute I think they're okay and I kinda like them but the next they just look weird and stiff. I dunno.

I'm kinda worried about how closely they'll follow the manga. Some character development for the villains so they won't be so one dimensional would be nice. Ditto on some of the side characters like Naru. A shame that she's just going to be firgotten yet again. That makes three tines now. Poor Naru.

I was willing to give Toei the benefit if the doubt when it came to animation, but I should have known better. And yeah, the two week wait is a bit ridiculous if this is the production level the anime is getting.

Um, nope. That wasn't me. Sorry to disappoint!!! Though I agree with sentiment.
