I've never heard this sentiment before (though to be fair, I don't hang out in the Sleepy Hollow fandom either, so I guess I wouldn't) so not sure how much it gets thrown around (probably not much at all). IMO the secret is worded harshly and they could've been cooler about it, but I agree that I don't see why Ichabod wouldn't be in the show. (However, yea, I'll never understand the levels of anger that some people feel about topics like this.)

Sadly, when I was in that fandom it actually wasn't uncommon for people to say it. Maybe it was just the people I followed but, considering the spectrum I kind of doubt it.
