Re: What are your thoughts on non-binary genders?

Mixed feelings. On the one hand, I'm not exactly normal (whatever that is supposed to mean.) On the other hand, I worry that some of the non-binary discussion carries with it some hidden essentialism. If you are not this or that, you must be essentially this third thing. And then that is used to engage in some ugly identity policing of gay, lesbian, and bisexual people (especially the latter).

However, if someone wants to be identified as they, it, zie, or ir, I have no objections to doing so.
