It is too bad that most older films don't have much of a fandom though, especially since a lot of old films are like super slashy (The Wild North with Stewart Granger and Wendell Corey comes to mind. One of the male leads even calls the other "bébé" throughout the film. And they spend a decent chunk of the movie chained together. I love it so much). At least Singin' in the Rain has a bit of a fandom, and multiple Cosmo/Don/Kathy fics which pleases me beyond words.
