I dont think it just that hes a dude, but I do think the comments would be a lot more supportive, and a lot less 'you're a creepy fuck' if the gender pronouns were reversed.

You're not the only one. I think there'd be more sympathy for "she's so perfect" if it were "he's so perfect" because then most of the posters here would recognize that EVERYONE thinks that in the early stages of a crush. Christ, how many "he's so perfect" secrets get posted here, all of them about celebrities and fictional characters? Nobody ever calls those posters creepy assholes.

DA Actually I always find those secrets creepy. Obsessing over people like that is never healthy.

The difference for me is that the OP personally knows the person he's creeping over. At least when fans are obsessing, there's usually a huge social and geographical divide from the objects of their attentions.

Not always though. I mean, Christ did you ever read that interview with Robert Pattinson in Vanity Fair? He was obviously two steps away from a complete psychological break down. Twilight fans are terrifying.

Not just the early stages of a crush for some of us. I've been all swoon-y over how perfect my current boyfriend is since before we started dating. 11 years later I still can believe how awesome he is. I still think he's just so. fucking. perfect. and I will knife in the gut anyone who tells me I'm wrong... I may be a little creepy, now that I think about it, but because of the homicide, not because I think someone is the most absolutely perfect human companion for me.

You really are reading too much into it. Some might be, but more people are creeped out by the obsession and pedestal worshiping. Also, FS is known for being bothered by infidelity, no matter who is involved.
