Yes, I do. It's kind of a dying art, given that the breed isn't that common anymore. Everytime there's going to be a "premiering" ( evaluation of exterior ans workability for breeding purposes) people are scrambling in panic to get someone who knows how to braid and to find "bast" ( the strips that are braided into the tail). I thought that it might be useful knowledge.

Yes. We have two main heavy breeds here in Sweden and the Ardenner is the only one of those two, that is braided. The other one, Northswedish draft horse, are shown with their mane and tail loose, untrimmed and natural.

There are Shire horses and Clydesdales, but their style of braids are different. They use colourful ribbons, for one.

The Swedish warmblood (riding horse) is shown with small braids which are rolled up into round "buttons" and the tail is trimmed on the sides of the root.

Horses are amazing. And horse tradition stuff is amazing. I wish I could learn to ride a horse (or just like pet one's nose).

Absolutely. My dad and my uncle have one each; a mare and a gelding. I'd love to have one of my own one day, unless I get nagged into getting a Northswedish draft horse like the one I borrow at the moment.

Åh, jag älskar nordsvenskar också. Använder ni dom för arbete, eller bara ridning och utställningar? Skulle älska att se bilder, om du har några online redan!

Nordsvensken rids och körs, men inte någon arbetskörning. Henne får jag rida/köra så mycket jag vill mot viss skötsel och att jag passar gården emellanåt.

Ardennrarna körs i skogen, fast kanske lite väl sällan.
