I agree with fandoms I'm barely in or have no attachment to. I've actually seen some really nasty things in ship wars, or had them put towards me. Misogyny, sexism, homophobia, even claiming that you're an abuser/pedophile/rapist (or an apologist) for daring to ship the "problematic" ship of the day. It's hard to distance myself when I see my friends receiving hate or shit because some shipper has a hateboner for the fictional and often hypothetical pairing they like.
