(Anonymous) 2014-07-13 12:44 am (UTC)(link)-Dutch Crown/Horseshoe braid. Rather than braiding around in a contiguous crown I find it a little easier to braid a horseshoe and then bobby-pin the trailing braid up into the crown.
-two french braids down the back of the head, then tie/weave the ends together at the nape of your neck. This leaves me with a kind of celtic knot at my neck and allows for wearing a hat.
-the more braids you have with the more strands the more shortened it will be. If you can learn to do a four- or five-strand braid that might do you!
