I live about an hour's drive away from Holiday World, and yes, it's a fun place. Just don't be shocked by all the Christian stuff. The main restaurant has a mural with a lot of Christian scenes on it. It made me a tad uncomfortable, to eat pizza while being stared at by Jesus.

That being said, I enjoyed myself! There are some great rides, and the soft drinks are free, the owners appear to be in the park pretty much all day long (and are friendly and approachable).

You can always take something to read with you, if you get bored waiting in line.
