Coming in late but suggestion! EZ Buns. http://www.ezbuns.com I used these all the time when I had my hair at your length, and these were well worth it because they are really easy and hold up very well. At your length, I'd suggest 2 for the double bun; that's what I had to use when my hair was that long and think.

Warning, though, if you put your hair up while wet in these, you WILL end up with a wavy effect. I'm not sure how that would work on already wavy hair, but I actually used these instead of rollers for a long time. (Nowadays I keep my hair short enough I can't use them anymore, which is probably the only sad thing about having short hair... that and I can't use my hairsticks. Which would be my other suggestion for long hair. I use 1, not 2, personally.)

I use hairsticks/chopsticks all the time, but it has the problem of not really holding up under physical stress (jogging or shaking my head). How how do EZ Buns hold up against jogging or vigorous headshaking? They look a lot like hair rollers and donut buns, which both go back to the same problem of "doesn't last that long under physical stress".

Better late than never. :)

I personally have had pretty good luck with them, and they held up better than anything else I tried against stress. The double bun, especially. The other thing is that they take about ten seconds to put back up in place so they are really easy to adjust on the go. Come to think, readjusting often doesn't mean rerolling the bun so much as adjusting the ez bun, so it probably takes less time in actuality.

If you've got the money to spare, I'd definitely try them. :)
