F!S Anon Meme (the Tenth?)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it!

I honestly think LOTR and POTC were two of the most fun fandoms to be in -- mostly because with POTC, we engaged with the writers without excess 4th wall breaking. And the LOTR universe is just so vast and the people in the fandom were such trolls that it was great. POTC 2/3 fandom suffered from tons of ship wars, and The Hobbit just didn't capture the magic of the LOTR days.

I've enjoyed bits of Hobbit fandom, but nothing will ever capture the spirit of the LOTR fandom. Fandom is a whole different beast now, too.

POTC was the best! Ship wars in potc though? I was in relatively calm waters in my corner of fandom...but could you please indulge?

2 moreso than 3, but the Jack/Elizabeth vs Will/Elizabeth ship wars were... something special. I mean, we're not talking Harry/Hermione vs Harry/Ginny level, but I do remember a lot of raging and a lot of ragging on Will.

And there I was, and I was like, "I'd like if J/E is endgame, but... I like Will. Can't I... can we just stop hating on Will, please?" Because I adore Will.

AYRT

lol Ok I see.

My area of fandom was less concerned about any particular pairings, but I totally get that. I LOVE Jack, so I avoided J/E like the plague. But even in my own fic, I would rag on Will a bit for being some what spineless or interrupting a moment, but I would always pair E/W, unless I came up with a better character than E.
