Not sure why anyone would be against doll collecting. (Or just about any kind of collecting, tbh.) Seems totally harmless.

Because dolls are for kids and nobody over the age of six is allowed to like them and if you collect them you're immature. Or something.

Umm, most criticism I've seen seems focused on creepiness. Dolls are creepy, apparently, or the collectors are creepy (for various reasons)... and also price. Some people spend a lot of money on dolls and others don't approve. I will say the price factors do attract some elitist types, and the fantasy side some less stable types, but, idk, I think you can acknowledge the common flaws in a fanbase without making blanket statements?
