Honestly, I get the impression that it doesn't even matter what happens in the next season to a lot of fans. It's predetermined that they're going to hate it, because they want to hate it, because Moffat is still writing it. It could be a magical combination of the best of the Hinchcliffe era and the most beloved RTD seasons and people would still despise it. It's completely ridiculous.

Not that Moffat's perfect, but the volume of the negativity is completely insane. But I guess that's just Doctor Who fandom. Full of hate.

I'm actually glad Moffat is now looking at handing it over to Overman, not because I think Moffat has been a bad showrunner (quite the opposite, he has taken the show to undiscovered heights) or a bad writer (hated what RTD did to Donna and Martha, and nothing has topped Dobby the House Doctor for appalling character assassination), but simply because I want to be free of the Moffat haters.

I do think that when its handed over, the first story should be in the Scottish borders where Moffat got his name with the Doctor saying how much he loves that town, just as a cheeky FU to the anti-Moffs.

That's exactly what I thought too. This fandom can never be pleased again, and I discovered it's just better to enjoy things alone than join fandoms, honestly, especially this one.

(Also not that I'm saying Moffat is a saint or anything, he is a dick, but it wouldn't kill you to admit you like something he did if you truly think it was good).

Pretty much. I mean, I don't even care about people not liking Moffat. But it has gotten to the point where they are making it out as if their opinion on him is objectively right and the only one a "real fan" could possibly have. And getting in the way of other people enjoying Moffat's Who.
