Yeah, I feel so utterly horrid over people whose opinions I don't give a shit about thinking I've said something mean to them. It is truly going to keep me awake at night for weeks to come, that is how distressed I am by that. I am just a terrible person for having my own opinions and being forthright with them.

I was curious about the Deanna Troi thing though, first time I've seen people actually praising Counsellor "unleash your rage" Troi. I wonder when that happened.

Honestly, I doubt it will actually work. You'll just stick your fingers deep in your ears and go "lalala it's YOUR fault/you're just butthurt" or some other cop out shit.

But here goes. You're a dick. You've frequently brushed off people, or told them to keep what they have to say/their ideas to their selves because you don't like them. Just yesterday you made an an incorrect and frankly offensive stereotype of people with Tourette's. You defend your behavior as "people are just mad I'm stating my opinions

and that's only some of it. You say you don't care what anybody says about you but then get angry when someone points out you're rude.

You know what kind of person assumes EVERYONE else is just "oversensitive" when they get called out on things? A kid. an immature person.

An adult knows that there is a time and a place for stating opinions and especially ones that are worded rudely. An adult knows that they are accountable for their own actions and can't just go "but other people are just too sensitive".

You can "state your opinions" without being harsh about them. It isn't "more honest" because your making it sound more rude.

Example: "I prefer not to read OCs" is not less sincere than "OCs suck and they're not all self inserts"

or

"I don't like this character" is not less sincere than "eugh [name] is a shit character I don't know how anyone can like them"

Just saying. people tend to respond badly to your "opinions" because of the WAY you present them that makes people annoyed. You DO have control over that at least. But honestly I can't help feeling like you want to piss people off and you choose to do it in the way that bothers them the most.

It's not your opinions, sweetheart. It's the fact that you're a dick, and the fact that as much as you say you don't give two shits, you get OTT angry whenever anyone says "hey, you're being a dick" or "I don't like you."

Yeah, kinda like how horrible it is that there are written things, completely free to read OR click out of, that include *gasp* things you might not like.

I don't actually think you should not say your opinions, that's your right. But why is it OK for you to say the same thing about things in fic you don't like. You've JUST acknowledged how easy it is to SCROLL PAST AND IGNORE.

Probably because, like most human beings on the planet, I have double standards when it comes to my own personal hot button topics. One of those buttons happens to be the plethora of crappy self-insert OCs in fanfic. They clog up my feed.

Well it's kind of annoying to see you telling someone else to keep their ideas and stuff in , but when someone criticizes you, you start whining about how people can't take your "honest opinion".

Just because 'most humans are hypocritical about SOMETHING' doesn't mean its okay to be a hypocrite (as well as a negative jerk in general) about shutting people down.

Also re: opinions-opinions are like assholes: I can accept the fact that you have one, but that doesn't mean it isn't full of shit.
