...well now I'm curious about this glove thing in Firefly.

And hey, I make fandom references to myself all the time for various things I do in my job. Sometimes that's the only way I can do some things without either throwing up or becoming an inconsolable mess.

Two by two,hands of blue and I can't remember the rest of what River sometimes singsongs. But it has to do with a private corporation with close links to the government doing top secret things that are normally frowned upon.

River Tam is a young genius who was experimented upon by the shady future goverment in order to research weaponizing humans. It worked. Unlike many stories with this, she didn't become a hard killing machine. She became a completely traumatized brain damaged mess no longer able to function without assistance but very dangerous when cornered.

She gained what was either clarvoyance or hyper-intelligent predictions out of the deal, and at one point started murmering "two by two, hands of blue" repeatedly.
