What are some characters you can't stand seeing being paired with other characters that's not the other half of your OTP? Why can't you stand it?

I don't have any myself tbh so I'm curious about those who do.

Hmm. I think the only one I have is Vegeta. I only want him paired with Bulma. All my other pairings are a character I love that I pair with everyone. Oh! Bucky. I only like him paired with Steve. Steve can be paired with anyone

See with Bucky I prefer him shipped with Steve in fan art or fic, but I think he's terribly cute with Na in canon.

I can't ship Charles or Erik with anyone else. XMFC is one of my few fandoms where I have an OTP of OTPs. That being said, I don't really mind people who put them in other ships and seeing as it's a juggernaut pairing, I'm not lacking in fic or art or anything. I will just drown in Cherik forever.

Ron/Hermione isn't an OTP, but I hate seeing them split up. (It's okay if one is dead, though.)

The only Snape pairing fics I read are Snarry. I don't ship Snape with anyone else.

As much as I want to ship other things, I don't particularly care for shipping Spock and Kirk with anyone but each other.

I think the only thing I actually refuse to give a chance is Dukat/Kira, not because they break up my otp (because lol my imagination is one giant orgy) but because it's extremely squicky.

It's sort of a cliche answer, but I can't stand seeing Holmes and Watson split up, in any universe. They're just...meant to be together, in my head.

I also have trouble otherwise pairing Mulder and Scully, Haseo and Endrance (.hack//G.U.), Rita and Estelle (Tales of Vesperia), Allen and Hitomi (Vision of Escaflowne), and maybe a few others if I really sit down and think about it. But those are the major ones, for sure.

I multiship more often than not, though. These are just a few exceptions.

I rather like Atoli but they are my preference too :D

I like her too, just not shipped with Haseo, haha! I actually ship her with Silabus a little...he seems like he'd be a sweetheart boyfriend, which I think is better suited to her.

As far as Haseo and Endrance go, I feel like...everyone else is expecting things of Haseo that he feels he can't live up to, while Endrance adores him with no particular pretense. And on the flipside, Endrance would obviously benefit from having a solid, stable relationship with a real human being. I just really love what they can be to each other. ♥

+1 on Mulder/Scully. I'm more protective of them than Holmes/Watson (I'm a Holmes canon fan first and foremost, so I never had a problem with Mary and never saw Irene as a love interest, plus I don't even really ship tem romantically in canon, anyway...)

I think the only character I don't multiship is Lysandre from Pokemon XY - I can only ship him with Sycamore. (And a tiny bit with Diantha, but only in an OT3 with Sycamore.) The odd part is that I ship Sycamore with multiple characters (although none as seriously as I do with Lysandre, and honestly, it's usually in conjunction with that pairing anyway - before, or after, or we-can't-be-together-so-I'll-be-with-others sort of way), so it's not necessarily the ship, it's just the character.

Couldn't say why, just every single other ship I've seen with Lysandre has felt... off? Like, I'd look at it and go, "Oh, that's not right."

I feel the same way--I can ship Sycamore with just about anyone in XY but Lysandre? It's Sycamore or no one. And even Lysandre/Sycamore strikes me as something that is horribly one-sided on Sycamore's part. I can buy Lysandre being obsessed with Sycamore, which comes up often in fic, but going by their in-game interactions Sycamore appears to be the only one invested in their friendship.

Well, I can't say I ship Sycamore with everyone in XY, since I can't stand him paired with the player characters and the other teenage characters, heh... (Which is uncomfortable, as they're some of the most common ships in the fandom. Oops.) But yeah, basically.

I really do like a more equal, mutual relationship, but you do have to develop it a lot in fic and boost it up with headcanon. Canon as it is does have it more one-sided. That whole Couriway scene is almost painful :( I do genuinely wonder how things would have turned out if Sycamore HAD confronted him.

I think with me it can depend on my level of investment in the ship. I think typically if I'm really attached to it I won't like seeing either of the two characters paired up with anyone else, but I've also got exceptions to this rule as well so it isn't always clear cut.

Example: I ship the fuck out of Thor/Loki, but Thor/anyone else doesn't bother me in the slightest. However seeing Loki paired up with anyone else? Nope, don't like it.

And then I have Steve/Bucky and Tony/Pepper who I don't like splitting up at all(I can wartime-era OT3 Steve/Peggy/Bucky, but that's as far as it goes).

I can pair Natasha with lots of people, but I can't read Clint with anyone but her. Back when I was in the Supernatural fandom, I could multi-ship Dean but wouldn't read Castiel with anyone else.

Barney and Robin can't be paired with anyone but each other. I only pair Xander with Anya, though that may be more because I only ever like him when he's with her.

While I can read fic of Stiles with other people, the thought of Derek with anyone but Stiles is a big nope for me. Can't really explain why. I've tried to read fics of him with others and I couldn't finish them.

I'm sure I have others but this is the biggest one for me.

Kakashi. I hate every pair of his except with Sakura. Sakura I can ship with at least 3 more people.

Snape

Movie!Rogue and Movie!Logan.

Bones from ST. I do ship him with TWO people, but only two. Any one else....bugs me.

Trying to think....

Kagome/Sesshoumaru. That's it. Completely.

Mmm....mostly thinking of pairs over the years that go back to from time to time...ah.

Jack and Elizabeth from PotC.

Buffy and Faith are the only two that work for me. If you're not going canon, I can't read anything but those two.

not so much an OTP... and i am probably alone in the fandom for this...

but I don't like seeing Hannibal being seriously paired with anyone, in a romantic sense. Not Alana, not Will, not Clarice. No one.

maybe in a very twisted, one-sided way, or in a smutfic.

but I don't get it when people write Hannigram fic that's romantic and fluffy. or say "they're so in love!" i'm aware of the subtext, it just does nothing for me.

i would really prefer it if the character was alone.

I won't mention names/fandoms, but I will say the reason I can't stand "the other pairing(s)" is partly because of something in canon making it clear that the other pairing is not happening (such as, when they miss the point of a canon friendship or parent/child type relationship). Or if people treat "the other pairing" like it's already canon.

Of course, I won't go around telling people they're wrong for liking what they like. I just personally don't care for what they like.

Bucky/Natasha and Shosanna/Fredrick. Only with each other, no one else - anything else just doesn't feel right to me.

John Sheppard. I hate seeing him paired with anyone but Rodney McKay. I'm fine with seeing Rodney McKay paired with other people though. I don't know why.

I am not sure I have many of those sort of pairing issues, it's more that I can multiship, but there are a few no-gos for characters.

Just in The Hobbit, I can't ship Bilbo with anyone but Thorin. Also, RP has made me this way about Kíli, even to the extent that I can't really feel as strongly about his biggest (and incestuous) pairing (i.e. with Fíli).
